Where does the employee list actually live?

In BambooHR, add a new employee, update their details or change their department, and TimeRewards stays in sync automatically. Departments or divisions can also be imported as Classes, so your reporting structure stays consistent.

How does payroll get hours somebody actually signed off?

Approved timesheets are sent directly from TimeRewards to BambooHR for payroll processing or accrual calculations. Payroll receives the same hours employees submitted and managers approved.

What happens to the record when an auditor asks?

When an auditor asks for the history, it is all there and timestamped. Every timesheet remains linked to the employee who submitted it, every edit is logged with a reason, and employee and manager signatures stay attached to the record.

What does connecting BambooHR involve?

Setup is a one-time job, done in TimeRewards. There are no files to move between the two systems and no middleware to license.

  1. Connect

Authenticate the BambooHR account you already use. No files to move between systems and no middleware to license.

  2. Map

Line your projects, tasks and cost objectives up with how you report, once.

  3. Work

Employees record time against real work. Approvals run in TimeRewards, and the record keeps its history.

BambooHR questions

If your question is not here, talk to our team or book a demo.

Which plans include the BambooHR integration?
Every plan. The BambooHR connection and BambooHR single sign-on are both available on Team, Professional and Enterprise.
What kinds of compliance does TimeRewards support?
TimeRewards supports four distinct compliance needs: DCAA timekeeping for federal contractors, 2 CFR 200.430 grant compliance for federally funded nonprofits, Single Audit/A-133 labour tracking by award, and IRS Form 990 functional expense reporting. TimeRewards provides the controls and audit-ready records these requirements call for, including daily time entry, change tracking, approvals, signatures, and complete audit trails. No software is certified for these requirements; auditors assess the organisation, while TimeRewards helps maintain records that hold up to review.
Does TimeRewards replace BambooHR time tracking?
Yes. TimeRewards is where time is recorded and approved, so you do not need to pay for time tracking in BambooHR as well. BambooHR stays the source of truth for people and time off, and approved hours come back to it for payroll. What you gain is project and cost-objective time tracking, multi-level approvals and the audit trail that compliance work needs.
How often does the sync run?
Automatically every four hours, and on demand from the Sync Tool whenever you need it, so you are never waiting on a schedule before a payroll run.
Do approved hours go back into BambooHR?
Yes. Approved timesheets export to BambooHR for payroll, or to calculate accruals, from the Pending Download stage of the timesheet pipeline, using a BambooHR-specific action. Employees, departments or divisions, and managers come the other way. Approved time off can move in either direction.
Do employees need a separate login?
No. BambooHR single sign-on is included on every plan, so people sign in with the credentials they already use.
Does the BambooHR integration support DCAA-compliant timekeeping?
The DCAA does not certify software, so no integration can be certified. What matters is whether the system produces DCAA-compliant records: daily entry, every change logged with a reason, employee and approver sign-off, and a complete audit trail. One-click DCAA compliance is included on every TimeRewards plan.
